COSMETIC DENTAL SERVICES

There are many options for treating problems like stains, chips, or misshapen teeth. Cosmetic dentistry can give you that boost of confidence without invasive procedures like plastic surgery. Teeth can be reshaped, spaces closed, the length of your teeth can be altered. Common procedures include bleaching, bonding, crowns, veneers and reshaping and contouring.

  • Dental veneers: veneers are thin shell of porcelain bonded to the front of your teeth. They can correct chipped, stained, or crooked teeth, and are resistant to future staining or chipping. Little or no anesthesia is needed during the procedure. Porcelain veneers require more than one visit because they are fabricated in a laboratory.
  • Bonding is tooth-colored material used to fill in gaps or change the color of teeth. Requiring a single office visit usually without the need of anesthesia, bonding lasts several years. Bonding is more susceptible to staining or chipping than veneers or crowns. When teeth are chipped or slightly decayed, bonded composite resins may be the material of choice. Additionally, it can be used to close spaces between teeth or cover the entire outside surface of a tooth to change its color and shape.
  • Teeth whitening: there are multiple methods for safely whitening your teeth. Bleaching can be performed by in the office or, under supervision, at home. Many patients enjoy bleaching at home because it is more convenient. Treatment begins when custom trays are fabricated to ensure the correct amount of whitening solution is used. Typically, whitening at home takes three to four weeks, depending on the desired shade you wish to achieve. Whitening in the office may need one or more 45-minute to one-hour.
